Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Qualification
Essential First Aid Training for Low-Risk Workplaces

The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification is designed for workplaces with low hazard environments and a smaller number of employees. This one-day course equips learners with the essential skills to provide immediate first aid to someone who becomes ill or injured at work.

The EFAW qualification meets the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements for the ‘Appointed Person’ role in the workplace and is an ideal option for smaller workplaces or those with minimal health and safety risks. It is also a great alternative to the more comprehensive First Aid at Work (FAW) course.

Upon successful completion, learners will receive an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate, which is valid for three years.

Why Choose the EFAW Qualification?

HSE-Compliant: Meets legal requirements for first aid provision in low-risk workplaces.
Ideal for Small Workplaces: Suited for businesses with minimal hazards and fewer employees.
Quick & Effective Training: A 1-day course designed to deliver the essential first aid skills without the need for extensive training.
Valid for 3 Years: The certificate is valid for three years, after which learners can refresh their knowledge and skills.
Course Content Includes:

Roles and responsibilities of a first aider: Understand your duties and how to respond in an emergency.
Assessing an incident: Learn how to quickly evaluate the situation and prioritize actions.
Managing an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally: How to properly assist someone who is unconscious but breathing.
Managing an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally: Steps to take when someone stops breathing and requires CPR.
Recognizing and assisting a choking casualty: Key techniques for dealing with a choking emergency.
Managing external bleeding: How to treat and control bleeding in an emergency.
Managing shock: How to recognize and treat symptoms of shock in a casualty.
Treating minor injuries: Providing care for cuts, bruises, and other minor injuries.
Accreditation and Licensing:
This accredited qualification is recognized by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and is part of the necessary training for individuals wishing to apply for an SIA licence to work as a Door Supervisor. The training is fully aligned with the SIA Specifications for Learning and Qualifications, ensuring that learners meet the professional standards required for working in security roles.

Whether you're looking to ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations or equip staff with the skills to handle first aid emergencies, the Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification provides the foundation for a safer workplace.
